Getting started

What do I need to sign up?

Your name, email, phone and home address. After you pay, your dashboard asks for a quick identity check with a photo ID and a camera.

My spouse is also on the deed. Do we both sign up?

Only one owner needs to sign up. You can add up to 3 people, like your spouse, who get a copy of every request by email. Only the account owner answers a request.

My home is owned by an LLC or a trust.

That works. After you sign up, your dashboard asks who owns the home. Choose "A company or a trust" and add one document that shows you can sign for it.

Can I sign up for a parent?

You can sit with them and help, but the owner does the identity check. You can be added as a person who gets a copy of every request.

The notice

How long until my notice is recorded?

It depends on the county, but it usually takes about 5 business days after you finish the two setup steps. You can follow each step in your dashboard.

Does it affect my mortgage or my taxes?

No. It does not change who owns the home or anything you owe.

Can the notice be removed?

Yes, whenever you ask, and we record the release at no charge. The notice also ends on its own 5 years after it is recorded. While you keep your membership, we record it again before it ends.

Selling or refinancing

I am selling. What do I do?

Nothing until the title company asks. Then answer "Yes, it is me" and the sale goes ahead.

I got a request and I am not selling.

Tap "No, this is not me". We tell the company the owner said no. Then talk to us.

Billing

What does it cost?

$199 per year. That is it. No extra fees.

How do I cancel?

In your dashboard under Account and billing, or by asking us. Your protection runs to the end of the year you paid for and does not renew. If you cancel within 30 days of paying and your notice is not recorded yet, we refund you in full. Once your notice is recorded, the year you paid for is not refunded.
