Terms of service

The agreement between you and us.

Last updated October 15, 2026. Draft, under review by our attorney.

1. What we do

We record a notice in the public land records of your county for your home. The notice asks anyone handling a sale, transfer or loan of the home to check with you first. When a title company, lender or anyone else asks us, we pass the request to you and tell them your answer. The notice is a request. It is not a lien, and it cannot legally stop a sale on its own.

2. Who can sign up

You must be at least 18 and an owner named on the deed of the home. If the home is owned by a company or a trust, you must be authorized to act for it and send us a document that shows it. You must pass our identity check. We may decline or cancel a sign-up if we cannot confirm who owns the home, and we refund you in full if we do.

3. Price and renewal

$199 per year, billed when you sign up and once a year after that. No extra fees. Each home has its own membership. It renews automatically every year until you cancel, and we email you before it renews. You can cancel any time in your dashboard or by asking us. Your protection runs to the end of the year you paid for and does not renew. If you cancel within 30 days of paying and your notice is not recorded yet, we refund you in full. Once your notice is recorded, the year you paid for is not refunded. If we cannot record your notice, we refund you in full.

4. The notice on your title

The notice names you as the owner, describes the home, and asks anyone handling a sale, transfer or loan to confirm with you through us before closing. Once recorded, it is part of the public record. It ends on its own 5 years after it is recorded. While your membership is active, we record it again before it ends. You can ask us to remove it at any time, and we record a release at no charge.

5. Confirming or declining requests

We send each request to you by email, and by text once your mobile number is confirmed. You answer yes or no in your dashboard. We tell the person who asked what you said. We never answer for you. Your answer is information for them. We cannot make anyone ask us or follow your answer, and we are not responsible for what they decide.

6. The restoration warranty

The full terms of the restoration warranty are being finalized with our attorney. They will be published on this site and become part of this agreement.

7. What we are not

We are not a law firm, a title company or an insurer, and nothing we say is legal advice. We do not promise that every buyer, lender or title company will see or follow the notice. The service is provided as is, to the extent the law allows.

8. Changes, disputes and contact

If we change these terms, we email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you have a problem, please talk to us first and we will try to fix it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Contact: help@stillmyhome.com, or Still My Home, Inc., 82 Nassau St #61542, New York, NY 10038.
