What we collect, why, and who sees it.
Your name, email, phone and home address when you sign up. If a company or trust owns the home, the document you upload to show you can act for it. Your answers to requests, a record of the actions on your account, and the IP address used. Your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see or store them.
Identity checks are run by Didit. Your ID and selfie go to them. We receive only the result and the name shown on your ID, so we can match it to the deed. We do not keep your ID images, ID number or date of birth. Didit keeps your data under its own privacy policy.
We look up the public deed for your home in county records. We use public county records and Google's address data to find the right county and confirm the owner.
To record your notice, check who owns the home, send you requests and alerts, bill you, answer your questions, and keep the service secure.
We send texts and emails about your home: requests to confirm, sign-up and recording updates, receipts and renewal reminders. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, or use the link at the bottom of a reminder email. We still send messages you need, like requests about your home.
With the companies that run parts of our service (payments, identity checks, email, texts, hosting and maps), only for that purpose. With your county recorder, since the notice becomes a public record with your name and the home's address. With a title company, lender or other party that asks about your home, who learns your answer. We do not sell your personal information.
While your membership is active, and after that for as long as the law requires us to keep records, for example for taxes. A recorded notice stays in the county's public records, where we cannot erase it. When it ends, the record shows that.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and use any other rights your state gives you. Write to help@stillmyhome.com or Still My Home, Inc., 82 Nassau St #61542, New York, NY 10038.
